Miami: il Cor Building di Chad Oppenheim
Il COR Building progettato da Oppenheim Architecture and Design di Chad Oppenheim il primo condominio sostenibile di Miami, in Florida, e rappresenta un esempio di sinergia dinamica tra l’architettura, l’ingegneria strutturale e l’ecologia.
Nell’edificio, alto circa 122 metri, che sorge nel Design District, sono state utilizze le pi avanzate tipologie di turbine eoliche, sistemi fotovoltaici e solari per la produzione di acqua calda, integrandoli nella sua architettura.
Oppenheim ha scelto di alternare il rivestimento in alluminio a parti di celle fotovoltaiche, dotando i serramenti di doppivetri apribili a bassa emissivit e fissi riflettenti. Si, inoltre, data vita in facciata a un gioco di fori circolari, a volte singoli, a volte uniti, in cui sono state collocate – in cima all’edificio, nella zona delle piscine – delle grandi turbine eoliche. Ne derivato, dunque, un esoscheletro iper-efficiente e multifunzionale: oltre a costituire la struttura dell’edificio, fornisce massa termica per l’isolamento e ombreggiatura per il raffrescamento naturale ed al contempo ‘recinto’ per le terrazze, armatura per le turbine eoliche e loggiato al piano terra.
COR composto da spazi commerciali, per uffici, per il fitness, per il tempo libero e per la residenza (113 appartamenti e duplex) e il termine dei lavori di realizzazione previsto sia entro il 2011.
